Fantasy Animals

There are many different types of animals from fairytales and fantasy that can have great meaning to both men and women.

One of the most popular fairytale images is fairies. They can be beautiful tattoos; however, as there are so many out there it is hard to get an original design. Having said this if you ask for a fairy from a tattoo artist (see..... for more details about how to distinguish between a tattooist and a tattoo artist) then they should be able to give you a design that has never been used before. Also if you put in some of your own meaning you can get the tattoo that is beautiful and is more significant to you.

Of all the magical creatures of myth and legend unicorns is the only one with a consistent meaning.  There are few records of an evil unicorn in all stories that you come across they are symbols of purity and pictures of innocence.  It is also a symbol of ancient wisdom in eastern religions.

Now onto the mythical creatures of the water world.  Mermaids are not as innocent as they look, their history is ancient Greek stories, where these sirens would lure sailors onto the rocks.  The only one who resisted them was Jason who had to ram wax into his ears so he couldn’t hear their song.  Nevertheless, since the story of 'The Little Mermaid', their symbolism has softened to one of beauty, strength and is chosen by those who love the sea and hate to leave it.

Not all fairytale creatures are good and beautiful.  Some like to have darker figures on their bodies.  Witches and wizards tattoos can make very effective designs.

Another popular figures are gremlins and goblins.  Although they are not very pretty to look at, they are cheeky, quite witted and fiendishly clever.
